yesterday impo called to let me know that the new maki nomiya disc had arrived. so i went and picked it up. maki nomiya was the lead singer for pizzicato five. i've only listened to the disc a few times, but i'm not loving it. i mean it's ok, but i can't help thinking it's missing something. i find myself wondering if it wasn't maki nomiya would i like this? and that seems like a bad sign. it seems like most of the old shibuya-kei bands just aren't what they used to be.
