a few days ago out of the blue i recieved a postcard from my brazillian friend andre. i know andre from the p5 mailing list(during that list's heyday andre on occassion was the list). the card itself isn't so special, but the stamp is. the stamp is of ary barroso, writer of one of my favourite songs - brazil.

andre wrote in part:

...couldn't resist sending you a a postcard with ary borroso on it. he composed your favourite song. this year he would have been 100.


well, brazil isn't exactly my favourite song, but i do like it alot. maybe i'm easily impressed, but receiving a postcard like this referencing something discussed long ago on some mailing list makes me indescribably happy. especially someone i don't hear from very often.
