last night i was doing a search on sharon gless. when i clicked on this link from showtime i get the following page:
so apparently only if you live within the united states you can access their information??! i've heard of countries trying to limit the access of their citizens, but this is the first time i've encountered a webpage forbidding someone from outside a given country from accessing their information. what good could this possibly do? i mean it's not like a profile on sharon gless and her work in queer as folk is some big secret. why limit who can read it?
one thing i've always liked about the internet is that the information out there is available to anyone with an internet connection. but this is troubling. if people are using the internet for research, cutting off people from reading that information just because of their location seems a bit absurd.
of course there is a workaround. i can get the page via the google cache. but why limit who can see such a page to begin with?
