jean blogged about chinese soccer fans rioting after losing to the japanese team. i can't say i'm that surprised, but it's sad all the same. the rampant nationalism in china is rather disturbing, and it does make me wonder how they will handle things during the olympics.

speaking of the olympics, it looks like china may be pressuring greece into backing out on allowing taiwan to distribute various promotional materials for the taiwan team. i haven't seen any examples of the materials themselves, but it all sounds rather suspicious.
