kodomoe no kuni. artists and children's books in 1920s japan. excellent. some really wonderful illustrations here. i'd love to have a book of these illustrations, but sadly i don't think one exists. looking over these images, it makes me wonder if today's children's books contain such high quality illustrations? somehow i doubt it, but i'm not in the habit of checking out the illustrations in the latest children's books so who knows? via fwak!
