yesterday i spent the afternoon hanging out with my friend ted who was in taiwan for a brief visit. we went to two museums, spent a good deal of time in the coffee shop of one museum eating bad food and talking about architecture, music, taiwan, cinema, cinema and more cinema.

after eating we headed to the little eslite bookshop in the taipei film house building and spent a good amount of time looking at dvds, cds, books etc. ted bought quite a bit. i just bought a postcard and a swedish film called show me love. it was so cheap i couldn't resist. while we were there we spotted a hardback book on experimental film so today i went back and picked that up as well as the new cd by rita calypso. some nice mellow bossa/acoustic/bubblegum tunes on there. the disc comes with a bonus disc of radio promotional material. i love the fact that siesta is now getting distribution in taiwan for some of its releases, so i can walk into almost any shop and find them on the shelves.
