today in the mail i received film form: essays in film theory by sergei eisenstein. awhile back i had mentioned seeing a book of essays by eisenstein at a used bookshop here, and ted told me he'd send me the book for free if i promised to read it. and here it is, and i promise to read it. looking at it now, i'm not certain it is in fact the same book i saw at the bookshop. i may have to go back just to double check. tucked away inside the book were two receipts. one for moe's in berkeley, and one for amoeba music. there was also a notecard with the following written on it:

i love finding odds and ends like these in used books, it's like discovering some cryptic mystery left over from previous owners.
