yesterday i went to moca to see their new show mebrane onto magic. i usually really like the shows at moca, but this one had considerably less that i liked. also some of the museum space seemed unused which made me wonder if they were supposed to have more work for the show and it didn't arrive or if they just planned a smaller show. the screening room was empty as well. the last couple of times i've been at the museum it's been closed which is a shame as they usually show video shorts in there. they have the space i wish they'd utilize it more. the highlight of the show for me was the room by mr. eyeball. whenever i see the work of mr. eyeball i wonder if he's a fan of the residents. in his bio at the museum they said he has two boutiques that sell his work, but didn't say where those shops are.
