naive taiwan art. a very good article on taiwanese art brut. i especially like this bit about the artist lin yuan:

After his output became sought after he at first made fun of the people who came to buy his work saying 'One fool worked on these stones and now another one wants to buy them'. An enthusiastic collector opened an open air museum called 'The Buffalo's Ear Garden of Sculpture' just to show Lin Yuan's work. Lin Yuan who died in 1991 is thus the only Taiwanese naive artist to have a whole museum devoted to his works.

i wonder where this museum is? i'd love to see it. all i've found so far is this page about a sculpture park in puli. which is not real close to taipei unfortunately. via gmtplus9.
