yesterday afternoon i sat down and watched the dvd for wings of desire. it's been a good 6 years since i've seen this film. i've seen it on the big screen countless times. nearly everytime it would play on the rep screen in seattle i'd go see it. good to see i still love it as much as i ever did. there are a lot of great scenes in this film. a few standout scenes for me:

• angels listening in on different people's conversations. on the street, in the house, on the subway...
  
  
• angels listening to different people in the library. the library looks gorgeous. this scene always makes me want to go to the library.
  
  
• nick cave and the bad seeds performing. i especially like the fact that you hear nick think i'm not gonna tell you about a girl and then he goes and says "i'm gonna tell you about a girl..." unfortunately you don't hear that bit on the soundtrack release.

when i see films like this with club scenes, especially with bands i like, i always wonder where are all the people in the audience now? how did they get chosen to be an extra in this scene?
