the triplets of belleville is finally playing in taipei. of course the one english paper they have at work failed to mention that it was even playing(instead they gave mega print space to catwoman).

today after work peter and i went to hsimenting to see it. the nice thing about this theater is that usually the audience isn't full of cell phone yackers, but we still had to hush up the people sitting next to us. but at least once hushed up, they stayed hushed up.

i really dug the film. i can't even remember the last time i saw an animated film in the theater. the colour and look was fabulous, and some of the music reminded me of henry mancini. one thing i dug was that there was almost no dialogue in the film at all. i can't imagine a feature length american film doing that today.
