today i went to the tailly high film festival and saw if you were me - korean shorts. i've heard alot about how great korean cinema is, but sadly have not seen any korean films aside from these shorts. the shorts were excellent. i especially liked this one dealing with a 30 year old disabled man. most of the time when i've seen a film with disabled characters they are totally sugarcoated. but not so here. nice to see a disabled character with a lot more grit and attitude.
seeing these shorts reminds me once again how powerful cinema can be, especially for telling more personal stories. hopefully we'll get to see more films like this with english subtitles playing in taiwan.
