today i hung out with my friend james and took him to 3 thrift stores, two of which i hadn't been to before(the one in hsintien appears not to be a real store, just one to hold furniture that is delivered to the other shops).

james bought a ton of stuff, but i was good and just bought two 7" singles. they are for some christian band called the crusaders. i was a little disappointed when i got home and discovered they are from 1992 and not some truly oddball release from the 70s. still they were pretty surprsing as they sound like some lofi alternative rock band, not exactly what i was expecting.

after the thrift shops james took me to this bookstore, that also has a ton of records. the records are hidden away under stacks of books. we didn't look through many of the records, but we did look through some of the books. to my surprise there were quite a few english books, so i bought miracle of the rose by jean genet and mrs. dalloway by virginia woolf. i saw a copy of e.m. forster's maurice that i may go back for.
