some comments about the trip down south. on friday we took the bus to tainan to where peter's sister lives. on this trip i took three cameras with me. my holga(which i'm still learning to use) my coolpix and my panasonic camcorder. along the way, i saw all these places i wish i could have stopped to take pictures. old farms, decaying buildings, etc. somehow i don't think the bus driver would really be into stopping just so i could snap a picture.
one thing i like about southern taiwan is you get to see lots of funky mascots for different kinds of stores. the funniest thing i saw on the trip was this cow:
on saturday we took a train from tainan to kaoshiung and from there a bus to kenting. well, when we got off the bus i realized i no longer had my wallet! panic set in, as that meant no credit cards, no money, no alien resident card...luckily peter had some money, and the people at our hotel helped us call the bus company, and luckily all was still in the wallet. it must have fallen out when we switched buses along the trip. still pretty scary.
last year(scroll down to november 12th) when we went to kenting we booked everything in advance, but this year we just decided to find a hotel when we got there. prices were considerably higher this year than last year. i guess they were still feeling the affect of sars so that is why things were so cheap last year.
after checking into the hotel we rented a scooter and hit most of our favourite places from last year. due to having to make a special trip to pick up my wallet we were a little rushed trying to see everything. a few holga shots:
i'm not sure how i feel about the light leaks in the holga. some people tape up their holga so they don't get any light leaks, but i'm not sure if i want to do that. most of the light leaks look like the bottom picture, not like the top one.
