journal of short film.

this looks to be really cool. a soon to be series of dvds of short films modelled on the model of a literary magazine. you can even buy a subscription. each issue is 10 dollars or 36 dollars for the one year subscription. they are looking for new work for upcoming issues too. the filmakers don't get paid much as this is being seen more as a way of getting work out to those places where such work doesn't screen much. of course most filmakers don't get paid at all when films screen at festivals. i'm already planning to order the fall issue eventhough i'm not familiar with most of the filmakers. it seems like lately there is more and more experimental work coming out on dvd which can only be a good thing in my eyes.
